The short answer is yes.
As of August 1, 2023, Rainbow implemented a new service time limit policy on all clinical and case management clients. Clients will be approved for 1 year of services, contingent on the date of their first session. This policy is effective for new clients immediately.
Clients who have currently been with us for longer than a year, or whose time limit will expire in the next 6 months, will be given a 6-month grace period (until February 1, 2024) in which they can secure more permanent services with the help of their clinician. Or, if they desire, clients are welcome to rejoin our waitlist and wait for services with a different clinician.
The new policy will give us the chance to support more community members with our services, and promote movement in the waiting list again. Thank you for your patience with us while we facilitate this transition.
Yes. We update our Clinical page monthly to reflect new changes on the top of the page.
Additionally, after you fill out the intake form, you are placed on our waitlist in the order of submission. We will occasionally contact you by phone and/or email to request an update on your interest in remaining on the therapy waitlist. Please respond to our email so we can keep an accurate list of prospective clients. If you do not respond, we will assume you are no longer interested and will remove you from the list.
If you are a provider looking to refer clients to us, please fill out the Intake Form at the top of the page, or call the Confidential Intake Line at (925) 692-2056, for assistance filling out the form. Once submitted, your client will be served in the order we receive the intake submission. When calling the Confidential Intake Line, you will be asked to leave a message, and we will return your call in 7-10 business days.
Due to the high demand for our therapy services, we are unable to bypass our process for providers.
Our team is comprised of clinicians who are at different levels of training and experience. Your clinician may be a trainee or intern who is pursuing a graduate degree, an associate clinician who is under supervision and collecting hours for licensure, or a licensed clinician. Clinicians are assigned based on availability, not based on requested experience level.
Fees are determined based on income and number of dependents when you have the first session with your therapist. We also have a cancellation fee that your therapist will outline in the first session.
We ONLY take Contra Costa Health Plan Medi-Cal insurance, however we do have assistance for people with other forms of Medi-Cal. You must be Medi-Cal eligible to receive assistance. Fees are not based on the experience level of the clinician. No other private insurance is taken.
We are able to remotely serve people who reside within California via telehealth. If you have access to a phone or Zoom, we can serve you.
You may join some of our peer or support groups, from anywhere as some are not clinical groups.
Additionally, some of our clinicians are back in-person, so please specify on the Online Intake Form if you prefer in-person or virtual therapy.
No. We are not a psychiatry facility, and do not have psychiatry professionals in-house to prescribe or administer medication. Please visit your psychiatrist for medication.
