Our Clinical Interns

Jhona Jingco (she/her) is a Filipina-America born and raised in the Bay Area. As a Marriage and Family Therapy clinical trainee, she is thrilled to be providing mental health services for fellow LGBTQIA+ members.

 

Jhona graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from UC Davis in 2021 and is pursuing her masters in MFT at National University. She has experience working with infants through elders, specifically of neurodiverse populations. She has also provided mental health support working with foster youth in Sacramento. 

 

Jhona’s approach is centered around the narrative model which recognizes clients as the experts of their own story and working collaboratively to create more meaningful narratives for her clients. Jhona values an environment of  respect, inclusivity, and non-judgment. She is interested in working with families and couples. 

 

Outside of clinical work, Jhona enjoys dancing, powerlifting, attending concerts, and spending time with her family and three dogs.

Isabella Perry

Isabella Perry (They/She) received their B.A. in Art History from Mills College and are currently a graduate student completing their Master’s Degree in the Counseling Psychology program at The Wright Institute.

Prior to graduate school Isabella worked as a Patients’ Rights Advocate for the Mental Health Association of Alameda County, working with and advocating for clients in psychiatric facilities. Isabella has been committed to working in the mental health field since they since they volunteered at a teen to teen suicide and crisis hotline.

They are devoted to creating a warm, welcoming, genuine, and thoughtful therapeutic space for the LGBTQIA2+ community and approach therapy with cultural humility, and a focus on the larger oppressive systems that impact daily life. Outside of school and work Isabella loves crafting with friends, and spending time with their dog, Rowdy.

Jenna Elanga (she/her) is an MSW clinical intern at UC Berkeley School of Social Welfare. With a background in harm reduction and HIV/STI prevention with the SF Department of Public Health and the St. James Infirmary, she’s honored to be a part of the Rainbow team for the year!

Quinn Sullivan

Quinn (they/them) is a queer, non-binary person who grew up in Oakland. They are excited to work with the queer community as a clinical trainee while completing their Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at The California Institute of Integral Studies. Quinn is interested in using somatic modalities (which focus on one’s experience within their body) in order to support a range of mental health concerns and experiences.

 

They believe creating a trusting relationship with a therapist can deeply shift how we relate to ourselves and others and provide the support we all need to live well. Quinn is interested in working with couples, adolescents, neurodivergent folks, and people across the gender spectrum.

 

Outside of Rainbow, Quinn loves swimming in rivers, writing, and spending time with their cat, Jupiter.

Shannon Geraghty (they/them/theirs) is a Bay Area born and raised Marriage and Family Therapist trainee, completing their Masters degree in Community Mental Health at the California Institute of Integral Studies. They received their Bachelors degree in Psychology from University of San Francisco in 2023.

 

Shannon worked with seniors in a retirement community while completing their undergraduate studies, followed by working as a counselor at a residential treatment facility for teens struggling with mental health and addiction. Shannon currently helps support at an outpatient facility for teens as they continue their journey towards becoming an MFT.

 

Their approach focuses on utilizing somatic and existential frameworks to help individuals connect their body, personhood, and mind to develop a broadened and solidified perspective of the self and work towards building a life worth living.

Wayne Carkeek

Wayne is a queer, white, cisgender male veteran who grew up in rural Montana. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley and is currently completing his graduate studies in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute.

 

Before beginning his clinical training, Wayne worked with LGBTQIA2+ youth through the Trevor Project, where he deepened his commitment to creating safe, affirming spaces for queer and trans communities. His approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and cultural humility, with a particular focus on supporting LGBTQIA2+ individuals in navigating identity, resilience, and healing.

 

Outside of his clinical work, Wayne enjoys reading, writing, hiking, riding motorcycles, playing video games, and exploring creative projects through 3D design and printing.
